Asheboro, NC native filmmaker Ty Brueilly has been working on building his ‘Shucks’ cinematic world since the premiere of his debut film, ‘Shucks’, back in 2017 at the historic Sunset Theatre in his hometown. Now eleven titles in, this recent addition held its world premiere at the world-famous TCL Chinese Theatres in Hollywood.
“I’ve been slowly working on ‘7eventh 7irkle’ for seven years; it seems either madly coincidental or serendipitous when I say that. I’m really unsure of which it is, but I feel comfortable with both or either. When I say seven years, I wasn’t working nonstop on it, but I was filming scenes, segments, and sequences since the release of my debut film, Shucks’ because there was and still is so much I want to discover and reveal in this story and also with these characters that I have developed and created. From the beginning of it all, I was heavily intrigued and inspired by the seventh circle of Dante’s Inferno and wanted to bring to my audience the gritty and dark truths of addiction, PTSD, depression, loss, grieving and the overall complexity of human emotions that no matter how much people judge, they will never really understand fully the pangs that lie therein, with ‘7eventh 7irkle’ I finally am able to do just that, it’s pretty raw, visceral, and down right unsettling at times, I hope my audience asks me questions about it, I want it to initiate conversations that incite emotional growth,” Brueilly said on the film.

Earlier this year, in February, Brueilly’s debut, ‘Shucks’ had its long-awaited Hollywood premiere, also at the TCL Chinese Theatres, years after being released since 2017.
Brueilly adds, “I’ve been very fortunate to have so much of my work shown so many times at the TCL Chinese Theatre, my breakout there was earlyin 2023, with ‘A Night In Charlotte With Sweeney Ty’ which was more of a hybrid music video that an actual short, and since then for two full years, there was a lot of momentum going for the other installments of the ‘Shucks Cinematic World’ that the opportunity finally came for me to show the originalfilm there. So when I left Hollywood back in February, I knew I had to finish ‘7eventh 7irkle’ because the opportunity was revealed to me then, and I know those doors don’t always open. I put out my first true casting call for the film in May and was able to shoot the final scene that I had on my boards during our 20Years Of MTTS Four Day Festival. It was emotional to say the least for various reasons, mainly the end of a long road, but also tying in everything with a scene from one of my childhood friends who was also an established actor, anddied in April, who was cast to be in the film and I still found I way to get him in there to end out the film and brought me to tears as I edited it.”

The 11 title ’Shucks Cinematic World’ is mostly made up of music videos, with ‘7eventh 7irkle’ being one of the 5 experimental short films that Brueilly composed the music for.
“I kept the same dark, otherworldly vibe that I have with all the music I composed. Some of which I composed years ago, and some I did in the final stages of editing. It was an exhilarating ride. We had nearly 100 people come together in various roles to make this film a reality. By far the largest team of people I have worked with so far on a film, especially compared to the single-digit crew from ‘Shucks’, so I was really trying to match the performances of each actor/actress with music I felt complemented them. This is brand new. This is the first time that nobody has seen one of my films before it hits the theater. It’s a high level of anxiousness, but I am meeting that head on, and I can’t wait to have that first conversation or hear the first review from ‘7eventh 7irkle.’"

Following its Hollywood World Premiere, ‘7eventh 7irkle’ will begin a film festival run, while holding a hometown premiere at the historic Sunset Theatre in downtown Asheboro, on December 11, 2025, that will also be the grand finale of the 20th Anniversary of Mightier Than The Sword Records, which was established by Brueilly in Boone, NC, back in May 2005. Boasting 100+ albums, 80+ films, 1000+ events, 50+ artists, and hundreds of awards in dozens of countries.
